Friends and Neighbors, Welcome to my Web site! I am honored to be running for Santa Clara County Supervisor, and eager to share with you my qualifications and vision for District 2. For the past 20 years I have served as the Vice Mayor of San Jose, City Council member, School Board Trustee, and as a high school youth counselor and coach. As Vice Mayor and City Council member, I worked hard to strengthen Project Crackdown to battle gangs that plagued our neighborhoods and led the effort for the City of San Jose to sue gang members, so they could no longer terrorize the Santee and Rocksprings Neighborhoods. I worked hard to ensure the City of San Jose invested an additional $1 million in the Healthy Kids Program for our children, and advocated for more revenue for our local roads and BART to San Jose connection. As your Supervisor, I will work to provide the Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney with the resources they need to keep our neighborhoods safe. I will ensure that Valley Medical Center’s trauma center, burn unit and emergency room is fully funded and fully staffed. I will protect our precious open space and hillsides for future generations, advocate for traffic relief funding for our local roads, and expand senior programs.
